The last months have been a highly productive time for our migration policy experts with the publication of various studies and the leading of numerous workshops and worldwide capacity building activities. The Vienna Migration Conference 2018 has certainly been one of the year’s highlights. More than 500 participants attended the two-day conference to discuss the most pressing migration issues. You can watch the conference film in order to get an impression of the event.

In the Spotlight: Launch of the "College of Practical Skills and Start-up Centre" 

From 17-18 December 2018, the High-Level Forum Africa-Europe, organised by the Austrian Presidency of the Council of the EU, takes place in Vienna. ICMPD is present with a side-event that launches a new public-private initiative, aiming to provide educational and employment opportunities in Africa, thereby tackling the root causes of migration and 'brain-drain'. "The College of Practical Skills and Start-up Centre" will start with a pilot project in Nigeria. The initiative will be launched on the18th of December in the presence of members of diplomatic corps and high-level politicians from Europe and Africa. It is supported by the Coca-Cola Foundation as well as other companies and public organisations.
